The Cleaver was just as much fun to make as it is to look at. It is cut out of a solid piece of natural cherry hardwood. The edges of the “blade” are chamfered while the rest of the board is rounded over.

After a fine sanding, the wood is coated with food grade mineral oil and buffed with a beeswax-oil mixture to preserve the life of the wood.
